Guide Vest
Whether you’re guiding clients around the river or leading your kiddo into the sport, you need to be prepared. The Simms Guide Vest holds all of your supplies and tools, with room to spare for fly boxes, spools, and even that bouncy ball you told Junior to leave in the car—but of course they didn’t. The durable fabric has a water-resistant finish to help the vest shed water in case a splash fight ensues, but unfortunately can’t do anything to bring back the fish that get spooked during such an event.

Well laid out
Enjoying the vest capacity. Wore out my G4 old style jacket. My new G4 jacket lacks the storage of old jacket. Wearing vest over jacket for added capacity needed on stream. Lots of pockets and zipper compartments that I have already comited a layout that works well for me.

I'm Glad
I chose the Guide Vest Steel xxl. After transferring all of my stuff from my cheaper vest, I still have "Gobs" of room. My movement is not hindered in anyway wearing the Simms. Phenomenal! Def the right choice.

Had this vest for a few years now and love it! Tons of room for plenty of tackle. I wade fish for smallmouth in wv and walk a long way to fish. This vest provides plenty of storage for everything I may need when I'm a long trek away from anywhere. Have no complaints.

Keeps getting better
I’ve had several of these over the last few decades, and they just keep getting better. First, their design is intuitive. I end up putting the same things in the same pockets because I know what’s where with my eyes closed. The left side of mine is set up for dry flies and the materials for keeping floating high. The right side is dedicated to nymphs, split shot and various strike indicators. Works very well for me.

A New Old Friend
I was so reluctant to abandon my old Simms Guide Vest. We’d been together a long time and on a lot of rivers and we have a history together. But it finally gave out or perhaps rotted out because as I said, we’d been together a long time and like that old joke about being put away wet, it was, many times. I like my new vest because it’s almost a carbon copy of Old Faithful. The pocket flaps might be larger and the velcro even stickier, but other than that very similar so I know that with time it too will earn my love and admiration. My one gripe about the vest is the two little whatever sleeves on either side of the bottom/front of the vest. They don’t fit what they should fit….floatant, dry shake, weed, whatever. Their taper makes them ok for almost nothing except maybe an eyeglass cloth or snipped debris from tippets. The End

Excellent product
I really like the guide vest. I wore a vest made for me by by wife 40 years ago until the zippers failed on 2 big pockets. There’s only one vest that I wanted to replace hers, and I’m glad I bought it. It’s been used in Idaho, Montana, California, and Colorado in the couple of months since I got it. Great vest.

Simms Vest
Pros - Lots of storage space. - Lightweight. Cons - No waterbottle holder. - Gear falls out of some pockets easily. I lost some stuff on the river as a result.
