Why We Like The Attack MTB ChromaPop Sunglasses
The Attack MTB ChromaPop Sunglasses sport impressive coverage, durable materials, and optimized tints for riding off-road. They protect our eyes from errant trail debris and the sun's rays. Moreover, we also get a sharp field of vision thanks to ChromaPop technology. Smith provides two of its flagship lenses, one that's a darker tint for more exposed trails and a low light Amber lens when deep under a canopy of trees. Both tints reduce color confusion while filtering harmful UV rays for a crisper field of view and better color contrasts. The lens shape increases coverage area for added protection from the wind, light, and debris, while the partial frame front and strategically placed vents integrate with Smith cycling helmets for a gap-free fit and enhanced ventilation for fog-free performance. Lastly, these sunglasses are equipped with Smith's quick-release MAG interchangeable system and come with a zipper case and microfiber bag for protection for when you're not wearing them.

Poor Quality
My pair broke where the lenses and the arms attached. It was not covered by the so-called "lifetime warranty." I have other Smith products, and I can't believe the poor quality of these frames in comparison. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

Low Quality Materials
The lens of my pair wore down over time where the arms attach to the frame and eventually broke. Despite advertising a lifetime warranty on the glasses, Smith says this is not covered. I would not recommend these sunglasses—there are higher quality options at lower or similar prices (i.e., POC or Oakley).

Susceptible To Breaking
I have quite a few Smith glasses I use for cycling. I typically recommend them to other. This model is quite different. I was resting mid ride and pulled these glasses off and the part of the lens that connects to the arm broke. Nothing rough or aggressive and they just snapped. Unfortunately not covered under warranty. I'd stick to the models that have full frame connections.

Smith quality isn't what it used to be
Two pairs broke in the exact same way. The glue where the lens meets the frame failed. these are otherwise undamaged and smith refused to warranty the 2nd pair. Such a bummer, because the optics on these are quite nice. The only other issue is that the way they sit on my face, I end up with a lot of sweat on the inside of the lens. Anyway, avoid these as the mag connection is nice, but not at the expense of durability. Smith's warranty terms have also been updated to include "The warranty program does not include a product that is lost, stolen, dropped, sat on, stepped on, run over, shattered, chewed by your pet, or any other damage that is caused by misuse, abuse, or negligence; the warranty does not cover damage caused by accident, improper care, negligence, normal wear and tear, or the natural breakdown of colors and material through time, exposure or extensive use." Those terms are so vague that they can include anything in "normal wear and tear, natural breakdown, or extensive use. In short their once awesome warranty is now largely useless.

Defective product
I purchased my lenses a year ago. The plastic hinge disattached to the lense, so I cannot attach the arm to the hinge and glass. Where can I get them fixed?

Best Pair of Glasses So Far
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
These Smith glasses stay on very well. Hardly any need to push back onto you nose. I wear a size medium helmet (just to give you an estimate on my head size) and the sides don't squeeze my head at all. I can ride with these glasses all day. But the best quality is the field of vision; I can see everything without have the frames in my peripheral.

photo chromatic lenses are pretty cool!
8th pair of SMITH's First pair of photo chromatic lenses, pretty cool! Wish the glasses part came in white, but all in all super happy with them, keeps wind and dirt out of your eyes, the Wild Cats are a little too far from my face to really protest ALL the dust and crud, but these do the trick! Typical SMITH- awesome product/ awesome brand Thanks

Frame broke twice from regular use, design defect
These were my regular riding sunglasses for mt biking. They worked well until the lens broke apart where its joins with the frame, rendering them unusable. The first time it happened, Smith warrantied them, so I was a satisfied customer. But the same exact issue happened a second time after only two seasons of riding. I was then was denied a warranty replacement for the same issue that was accepted prior. I was told it was "normal wear" for the lens to break in that manner, and offered a 30% discount code instead. So much for a lifetime warranty, this is clearly a design defect. Stay away from these sunglasses.

Great fit and protection with superior photochromic lenses
I’ve been wearing SMITH optics for 8 years since I picked up a set in Utah on a trip. I have always used multiple lenses and found the vision to be clear and the coverage to be great with my contact lenses. The 2 lenses in this set are superior to anything I’ve used before. The photochromic lens changes darkness based on the ambient light and it it fast and smooth. The Chromapop technology really does improve trail contract and visibility for me. These lenses provide good coverage for my face and fit perfectly with my ForeFront2, Mainline, and Session helmets. The fit seems to keep just the right amount of airflow to prevent fogging. The SMITH MAG arm system is faster and easier than the PIVLOCK system for quick changes. The nose piece is adjustable to customize how high they sit on your face which is really nice. The glasses stay put on your face with sticky rubber and the arms stay open so its easy to remove and put them on one-handed. The case is the standard SMITH case which last well if you take care not to get the zipper dirty or wet. The cleaning case and rag is essential for cleaning.I rated these 4 out of 5 because I did have a problem with the MAG magnets rusting due to sweat. I do ride more than the average rider as an instructor and I have very acidic body chemistry so this is not a common problem, but something to be aware of. I suggest removing and drying the MAG clips after riding to reduce sitting moisture on the magnets. (If you’re concerned, go with the Ruckus using PIVLOCK instead). Also, the lenses are durable, but not super hard so they can be scratched when cleaning so be sure to rise the lens first with water if there is any mud when cleaning. I still have my Utah pair of PIVLOCKs after 10 years. These are excellent glasses especially when worn with SMITH helmets.

Quality versatile piece of kit
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I like these, easy to keep the lens with you if light conditions change while you’re out, and very easy to swap. Clarity like you’d expect of ChromaPop, you’re in for a treat if you haven’t used Smith’s lenses. Comfortable enough, the black curtains in your peripheral vision takes a little getting used to but you can rationally explain to yourself why those are there and get on with your life! Only thing to note is they’re hot! If you live and ride in desert summer temps, expect to feel the difference if you’ve been wearing eyewear that doesn’t cover as much of your face. That said, the way my eyes water when the air is even a little bit cool, these glasses are going to be perfect now that temps are tailing off. I’m glad not to be riding in my Guides Choice anymore, these are perfectly suited for activity and worth the investment as long as I look after them!
