Why We Like The Signal MIPS Helmet
Sure, the aero helmets of the pro peloton look slick during a time trial, but for the everyday rider, that is a bit much for cruising down city streets. Smith's Signal MIPS Helmet delivers pro-level protection and features in a package much better suited to the bike paths of our hometown loops. With 21 vents to draw air through the helmet, we can stay cooland comfortable, and arrive to work without too much of a helmet hair effect. The vents also help prevent fogging when we're wearing our fastest sunglasses that sit close to the helmet's edge.
Smith uses their VaporFit system, which has a dial and allows for up, down, fore, and aft movement for your perfect fit. A well-fitting helmet is a safer helmet, and with three sizes to choose from, you can make sure to have the best fit for your head. The MIPS layer is a strategically anchored liner on the inside of the helmet that moves independently of the helmet shell to redirect impacts. All of these features add up to a helmet that feels light on your head as you cruise through town with the protection you need to get home safely.

Great fit, no fuss, finally
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
This Smth helmet fits much more naturally and comfortably on my head vs the Bontrager helmet I had been using. I didn't know what I was missing.

Incredible helmet !!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I’m a skier and know several other skiers and snowboarders who swear by their Smith helmets. When I saw the Smith MIPS helmet on sale I had to purchase it. Very comfortable and solid fit. Exceptional cushioning with no tight areas just a solid feel. What I really like is you can put in the helmet and take it by just tightening or loosening the main helmet strap. No guessing. Also, I measured the circumference of my head and used the “size chart” and the fit is so close that I barely barely had to use the ratchet adjustment. I’m a mountain biker and this helmet works great. No movement of the helmet over rough ground or rocks. It’s just part of the head going for a ride.

Can’t handle the straps

I purchased this helmet to use as a commuter/light gravel helmet. The straps rub on the back of my ears no matter how I adjust them, making the helmet unusable. Its a shame because the helmet fits my head well and looks decent.

A Smith helmet that fits my noggin!
Although I would like other colours in XL (in bike helmets), this one fits great. Smith really needs to make other bike helmets in size XL. Ski helmets they do, but not many bike helmets.

A little bit too tight.
A little bit too tight. And I have to pay the shipping to send it back. So I say to myself, Rey bad move to buy an helmet without trying it. Bad experiences

Great Protection
Switched to this product for the MIPS and how sturdy it appeared. I only had the opportunity to wear the helmet for 8 minutes before a distracted driver turned left into my path. The helmet did what it was suppose to, I had no injury to my head. I will be replacing this helmet with the same!

I like the style, fit
I like the style, fit and comfort of the helmet. It was definitely an upgrade over my old helmet which was questionable in all these categories.

Nice for the price, but …
Nice, light and well-fitting, but the strap system is terrible. The little buckles will tear your fingers up trying to pry them open and no matter what you do, you’ll never get them to lay flat.

Won't be going for a ride outside until March, but I like the quality, the fit and how it looks.
