Boomslang Platform Pedals
Balancing reliable feel with a sleek, no-frills design, the Specialized Boomslang Platform Pedals provide downhill riders the clip-in style grip they need while keeping things low-profile. Custom undercut pins account for the grippy feel that 's borderline clip-in, while the Super Lo-Profile construction offers an exceptionally slick design that's only 10-millimeters thick at the center. Plus, the built-in pin carrier hides four pins to help make replacement quick and hassle-free, in case things go south.

Heavy duty pedals
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Big platform, grips like youre clipped in. Very comfortable and take a battering. The bearings need a lot of care and you need proprietary tools to take them apart, which is a bit annoying.

Stay away
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
No markings L or R and due to bad design no double ring on left pedal. When installed on a crank with a boot pedal doesn't spin. Fit is very very tight. Not enough space between pedal body and crank. It was main reason for return. By today standard pedal is heavy. I was not even aware about special tool needed for servicing. Another reason to staying away.

My favorite flat pedals!
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I originally had these before I switched to clipless pedals and loved them. When I purchased and enduro bike earlier this year, I decided to use flat pedals and went back to the Boomslangs. The shape of the pins really digs into your shoes to create excellent grip. I've tried other flat pedals and didn't feel like they had as much grip as these do. I like that there are extra pins stored on the pedals themselves, even though I haven't had to replace any yet. The platform is large and sturdy but the width is low profile. I rarely pedal strike, even on steep technical terrain.
