Why We Built The Stoic Bivy Suit

Designed for campers who want to explore their camp's surroundings without leaving the warmth of a sleeping bag, the Bivy Suit from Stoic is one of our best creations yet. We crafted this one-piece sleeping bag suit so that we really never have to take it off, thanks to the cooling two-way front zip and zippered thigh vents, and the pullover hand and feet covers that retain extra warmth when we need it. Because this innovation has become such a popular style, we extended the sizing so even more adventurers can appreciate the Bivy Suit's toasty cocoon.

Super cozy

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

XXS/XS

The size chart is definitely off. They should provide sizing by length rather than width. Based off size chart, I ordered S/M but had to exchange for XXS/XS. There is still plenty of room. The Bivy suit is much cozier than I thought! It keeps in my body heat very well. Unfortunately due to the exchange, I wasn’t able to test it out when I was in 20° weather, but it is definitely too warm for hanging out in the house at 68°.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my daughter. She was very pleased with it. I was most worried about the fit, but it fit her well. It actually looked extremely cute on her!

So comfy!

I’ve been eyeing one of these basically since they released and finally bit the bullet! The sizing is generous but that’s not a bad thing and contributes to the warmth. My sole complaint is that the way one of my arms was sewn created a weird funnel I have to shove my hand through but it isn’t uncomfortable once on. Definitely recommend!

Awesome item, just double-think sizing

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Weight:

I'm 6' 210 lbs with big legs and the S/M fits me quite well, just a tiny bit tight through the thighs but can still wear them comfortably w/ a thinner underlayer (shorts, leggings etc). I also got the L/XL (don't judge me), which is very long (I need to bungie the legs to keep them up) but that size is my preferred size for couch lounging.

We hated them.

I am not saying they're a bad product. They look good, they're awesome to walk around, warm and cozy. But to sleep in these was torture. For me and my wife. Both had the worst sleep of our lives in 0*C (which i think is 32F?)....I dont know. We got them half price so we aint going to complain a lot, but I would go with a sleeping bag. Unless you want something to walk around the camp.

Amazing for frigid walks or cold camping

This Bivy suit is a game changer as someone who is always cold but loves to be in the snow this suit is everything I've ever wanted and more. This item has an intentional oversized fit to allow space for layering on those extremely cold nights as well as for using it as a sleeping bag if needed by sealing up the foot and hand areas. You can tighten down the ankles to ensure you dont drag any fabric when going for a walk for us shorter folks. I'm 5'3" and 125 lbs and bought the XXS/XS for myself and the L/XL for my husband who is 200lbs and 6'4. We waited for our Crepes a la Cart in Breckenridge in these suits, while every one was huddled around the fire pit we were perfectly toasty on a snowy night. I ended up having to buy two more for my In-Laws because we travel together in our RV's and they were jealous of our suits when walking the dogs in frigid temps, now everyone is happy and warm. My only feedback would be to make like a zipped dropper seat like what you see in snow bibs so when you need to use the bathroom you dont have to struggle, esp for the ladies. I fortunately have a she-wee funnel to replicate peing like a guy hahah which is honestly hilarious to use when I camp but makes it easy at times. This is made with Synthetic insulation so it will still retain warmth even if it gets wet. Seriously buy this item, you wont regret it.

Bought 2 of these suits on sale, one to sleep in and lounge around the house in winter. The other I will use for outdoor activities in cold weather. Have tried 2 other brands of similar suits, but I like this one the best. It is roomy, warm and comfortable. I am 5ft 9in 150 lbs and the s/m fits well with some room to spare.

This thing is awesome! I bought it to wear to my kid’s spring softball and baseball games here in Montana. I’m 5’2, 125lbs and the xxs/xs is roomy but fits fine. My daughter plans to use it during hunting season on those super cold mornings when she is posted up in a field and waiting for a deer.

Got this for my MIL, as she is always wearing thermals. She used it that first night at a lake near Yosemite, and she loved it. She was toasty warm.
