Why We Built The Stoic Groundwork Single Sleeping Bag
We designed the Stoic Groundwork Single Sleeping Bag for pushing our camping season into shoulder season temps and even into winter. The mummy shape works together with Thermolite synthetic insulation to trap warmth even in ice-cold environments. We utilized a 20D ripstop shell fabric with a DWR finish for durable, water-resistant performance that holds up to heavy usage for multiple seasons of use.

Great value

Good bag for this price. It is very warm and comfortable. I slept through 30-35 degrees F, woke up to light frost on my car, but was completely comfortable and warm in the bag, never noticed the outside temperature. I purchased the bag with intention of sleeping in temps in 20-30 degrees F this fall which I haven't had the chance to test, but I feel confident it will keep me warm based on the previous experiences. I am 6'1, 200lb, am a side sleeper that moves a lot and don't really like mummy bag shape, but I do have enough room in this bag to move around and stay comfortable. The only real problem I've had with this bag, is the zipper. It seems lower quality compared to the other materials the bag is made with, and it catches the bag a lot when zipping up. There is a tube of insulation that runs along the length of the zipper seam which is great when you're in and all zipped up, but it is finicky to get zipped up. I've used bags with nicer, bigger zippers that zip up and down much more easily than this one. Be patient and deliberate with this zipper if you want it to last. Aside from that, I am totally satisfied and warm in this sleeping bag, glad to have it in my lineup and it did not break the bank in the least.

Great winter sleeping bag!

Although this bag would not be ideal for backpacking if you are close to your vehicle and don’t have have far to go for camping this STOIC bag is perfect. So perfect I even bought one for my friend for her bday! The quality is very nice and keeps you extremely warm throughout the night. The bag is roomy enough for myself and my dog to sleep comfortably in it. I prefer sleeping on my side and it is still comfortable to do so in this bag.

Neighbor thought I froze & died in -40°

My heat went out when it was -40°f outside. It was 4am so I pulled out my sleeping bag and went back to sleep. My phone froze and died, and all the water in my cabin froze— coffee machine, dish basin, greywater bucket, etc. Indoors it was approximately 8° but I was very comfortable inside the bag. I woke up to my landlady bursting through my door in because she thought I had frozen to death in there. In fact my dog and I were just soundly asleep in this sleeping bag. Highly recommend since I didn’t die. I also used this to camp from NC to AK and temps ranged from about 5°f to 80°f or so. Bag is great for all seasons but gets a little too warm around 60°. Only complaint is that the zipper gets stuck frequently and I did pee my pants one time because I was stuck inside trying to get out to use the restroom so I took off one star

Big fan of the stoic bags. This is a reliable and high-quality sleeping bag that has proven its worth in some super cold conditions. It's exceptionally warm and comfortable and I have had no issues with the zipper. I have no hesitation in recommending this sleeping bag to fellow adventurers who need a dependable companion for cold-weather trips. At the price it makes sense to grab it as an extra for friends.
