I previously had the Tanta, and while it wasn't a bad shoe, the Arai works for me so much better. It is a bit softer, more flexible and will stretch out a bit to mold to your foot. Even thought it is softer, it still provides good support in the midfoot. The Tanta is fully lined in cotton, so it doesn't stretch. But the Arai is only cotton on the foot bed, and microfiber/unlined in the upper, so it stretches beautifully. The Arai is comfortable right out of the box - no blisters and minimal breaking in. It is a great intermediate shoe (I climb V3 for the most part) and see myself sticking with this at least until I reach V5. All around excellent shoe. For reference, I sized down about a half size and it fits perfectly.

I wear a US Men's 13.5/14 narrow in street shoes and it's hard to find good shoes. These are PERFECT for me in a 12.5 - A little tight at first but they will stretch enough to be great long-term. If you have trouble with big feet like me, give these a try
