Light weight and water repellent.
I have not tested backpacking yet...but for what basic storms I have worn them. They are light weight and water repellent. Full review coming this summer.

Great water resistant pants.
Great pants but the XL fits way too big. Downsize to L if you normally wear XL sweatpants. I believe the material will last a long time. I recommend layering these over something for winter.
