Very nice lightweight tent!

The Assault 3 is a great lightweight packable tent. Keeps you dry and gives you quite a bit of space. The only thing I don't like about it is the instructions. A piece of plain paper with some pictures. Not very descriptive and you get the durability of notebook paper. At least laminate them.

I would definitely buy this product again

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Will be using in addition to our new VE-25 Summit Series Tent. My wife & I tow one wheel bike trailers behind carbon fiber mountain bikes. Required advanced technology shelter by TNF for the elements. The North Face is right on the money when it comes to "Summit Series". Featherlight fiber material is a brilliant idea. 200,000 polyethylene extruded nano fibers on a fabric that permits air flow but plays with surface tension of water. Cool idea. TNF is incorporating advanced Science into their technical gear. Add a LifeTime Warranty to that.

Great Alpine 3+ season tent

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got to test this tent out a couple of weeks ago in the Yellowstone backcountry and so far am very happy. I purchased this tent looking for a winter shelter for camping in temps from Zero to Thirty (or so) degrees F. I was so impressed with my Futurelight Jacket that I had to give this tent a try. I think the person who reviewed this tent last thought that it is a summer backpacking or car camping tent, which it is not. This is a great, lightweight winter shelter. I had zero issues with condensation even when temps dipped to about 17 degrees F. I had the roof vents open all night and the vent into the vestibule open as well. You could use this tent in the summer if you wanted to, there is a good amount of ventilation which can be achieved with the roof vents and door vents, but it's not really meant to be a summer tent. Personally, I prefer a tent with a lot more mesh in the summer for better airflow, and you can get a much lighter summer tent. At six pounds, this tent is light for its application but my summer two-person is about half this weight. I was really impressed with the carbon fiber tent frame which helps lighten things up, and setup was easy when I had the tent staked down BEFORE I tried to raise it. It was much harder to assemble in my living room as the whole thing was sliding around un-staked. Two long poles to make an X inside and you just put each end into its corner and bingo, your tent is up. Some nice velcro loops inside to secure the frame. The vestibule has some great little toggles and loops to attach it to the tent body that go together well, even with gloves on. Lots of guylines, plenty sufficient for fair-weather winter camping. Even in a serious storm, exposed to the wind, you should have plenty of tie-off spots to keep the tent in place. I only have three very small gripes about the tent: *At 5'10" I touch the tent walls with my head and toes when inside, if you are much taller than me you'll have to sleep a little diagonal to fit. It would be nice to have a little more length to prevent the sleeping bag from contacting the wall fabric. *The tent stakes that come with it are summer stakes. I wish for the money TNF would include snow stakes. *The tent pole for the vestibule is hard to get through the sleeve that holds it. These are minimal complaints, however, and I think this tent still ranks at the top of the ultralight alpine tent category. Very impressed with Futurelight fabric and excited to put the tent through the wringer this winter.
