Best rolling duffle on the market.
We use this luggage for various types of travel: airplane/hotel, train/hotel, trailer/camping, airplane/boat. Mountain, ocean, desert, lake. The versatility to handle our gear is unmatched. It's sturdy and collapses for easy storage. More expensive than other size bags on the market but well worth the money on quality, sturdiness, and versatility.

Great bag for ski gear
Purchased for use as ski boot and gear bag. 8 flights under our belts and really pleased with it. Sturdy and effective handle, great compression straps. I looked at about a dozen bags before purchase and am very happy with my choice.

Taking this on a flight? Think again!
The rolling thunder is very stylish, had plenty of space for my two weeks trip, it rolls nicely. Unfortunately, the coat that covers the fabric was damaged on the first flight I took this thing, leaving the logo scarred, as well as other parts. This might be good for buses, vans, and car trips. I'm pretty sure that a couple more flights gonna have to buy something new. Something else to consider is that the side straps might get hooked into other things on transit.

Exceptional roller
So we bought the larger Thunder and it was absolutely massive. So happy we bought these for our japan trip, heavy duty and rolls smoothly. Really like the volume and straps to synch down top and sides but favorite feature are the handle placements.

Very Disappointing. Not worth the money.
Very DISAPPOINTING. Spent good money on a luggage that I believed would last me a life time. Bought 2weeks ago, received it on time for trip only for it to have a crack and ripped at the top corner. I travel 80% of the time for work and I have used no name brand luggage that have lasted years. This one fell apart after the first use/flight. I reached out to The North Face customer service about an exchange only to be given the run around.

Outstanding quality - another 20 years of EXPLORING!!
I bought my original Rolling Thunder 20 years ago and it's served me well; traveling around the world a couple of times, and it's still going! It was always going to be a hard act to follow but my new Rolling Thunder didn't disappoint! Stylish with the outstanding North Face quality - I look forward to another 20 years of EXPLORING!!
