Solid choice for child in elementary school
We live in NYC where winter can feel like in the teens. I am impressed by how warm yet compact this jacket feels. It keeps my child warm outdoors during school recess without needing another layer. Wind- and water-proof are good features to have.

Please bring back pockets on inner coat
We own the triclimate for all three of our boys. I've even purchased for cousins in the past. We would love to continue purchasing this style for its versatility and color selection. Unfortunately they stopped making the inner jacket with pockets. Which is a deal breaker for our family. The children wear the inner coat the most throughout spring and fall, in the Midwest. Those pockets are essential for cold hands, bringing cars and rocks along, holding tissue for runny noses, gloves when bare hands are needed. This coat WAS really perfect. I'll keep checking each season until then we settle for the other guys (their pattens are less versatile vs solid colors). If this is not a big deal for you then it's a great coat but if you can relate I encourage you to advocate for the return of pockets on the inner jacket. Having those pockets really does take it from maybe this will do to spectacular.

Love that this comes with the insulated insert jacket. My kid is so much warmer in this.

deceitful picture .no pants
Instead of writing jacket it says trick mate and then you receive just the jacket. No pants. And then when you go back to buy the marching pants they're not available. So no suit, contrary to the picture

Daughter loves it!
We've only skied in it a few times but my 8yr old daughter loves it, sized up to a 10 so she could keep growing, and it has enough room for another puffer on cold days, helmet compatible hood is key for wet days and chair rides when snowmaking is going full blast- We will see how it lasts with a season under it, but so far it's been great

Skiers go to jacket
I like that you can use the hoodie to cover the helmet to keep your neck warm. I also like that the I can easily identify my son from the crowd with it's unique color combination. He said he like it because It really keeps him warm.

Slightly disappointed
Slightly disappointed in the lack of some features for a North Face coat and this price point. There are no inside pockets, the inner coat that can be warn separate doesn't have any pockets at all. The snaps at the wrists to join the 2 coats are not strong enough and always detach when removing the coat. The hood is not adjustable. It is warm and light weight but really lacking some basic features. I would not buy again.

Beware of shipping policies
Beware of Backcountry’s shipping policies. My order was supposed to be received in 3-7 days with standard shipping. When I called, after not receiving my order, I was told it was instead shipped economy, which takes 10-14 days. The rep said, “this just happens sometimes”. If you’re expecting your order within a certain timeline, buy from another site. This company should not be trusted.
