Winter doesn't stand a chance.
Purchased just in time for the frigid weather in the DC area. Freezing rain, Subfreezing tempts and snow were no match for my NorthFace.

Satisfied Loyal Customer Since 1986
This in my opinion the best jacket TNF has put out. I have a retro 1994 Mountain Light Jacket, 1990 Mountain Jacket which is the same as the one this jacket replaced due to a warrantee issue. This jacket is basically the same design with some improvements like a better reversable front zipper, button down front flap has a water gutter now, way better hood adjustments and it's lighter in weight but still has a tougher outer shell than other TNF jackets. Also still has the zip in jacket or vest ability. It's rapidly becoming my favorite jacket.

Gortex is much better than futurelite
Fantastic quality. I tried one of their futurelite jackets and had it for a couple years, but would easily wet out and soak through, so I went with the gortex this time. It's little heavier than the futurelite but seems far more durable. My only complaint is personal preference, as I think the hand pockets are a little too high. The zippers are positioned just below the chest.

I love it
This jacket has impressed me on every front. It's reliable, durable, and comfortable, with excellent weather protection for a variety of outdoor activities. Whether you're facing down a snowstorm or braving a rainy day, this jacket will keep you dry and comfortable. Yes, it's an investment, but for anyone who spends time outdoors and wants something that will perform at a high level, it's absolutely worth the price. I can see this jacket lasting me for many years, no matter the adventure.

Best jacket...ever!
I purchased this jacket in 1997, while in college. (Big purchase for a starving college kid). I am still wearing it in 2024 and have zero issues with it. If you are looking at this review, purchase it. You will thank me in 20+ years, when you are still wearing it.
