Why We Like The Recon 30L Backpack
The trip to campus is an adventure all on its own, so we travel with the Recon 30L Backpack in tow. This one massive pack has enough space to get us from 7:30 economics to our dreaded night class without taking a trip back to the car. Not only is the main compartment large enough for textbooks, snacks, a sweatshirt, and all our chargers, but there's also a separate stash made just for keeping our computer safe and sound. Still doesn't sound like enough space? Pockets and daisy chains cover the outside of the pack, so nothing gets left behind.

My second backpack and I love it!
I bought this to use for work. I am a traveling therapist so I use it to carry all of my notes, files and more. It replaced my older model I've had since freshmen year in college. My old one was in great shape, I just needed a change and wanted a new color.

Prefer the Old Version. See Comments for Details.
I've switched from the old version of the recon backpack to this one but I prefer the old one over this for a couple reasons. Pro: 1. Love the padding material on the back of the new backpack as the old one had a material that would wear out my clothes due to how abrasive it was. 2. Love the new back zipper pocket for laptops as I can easily access my laptop even though my bag is full. Con: 1.The height of the backpack is much taller or longer than the previous one and it's hard to place it on my lap since it slides right off as it's longer than my thigh. If the backpack was shorter 2 inches then it would be perfect. 2. The bottom of the women's recon backpack is like an egg shape so it's hard to keep it upright since it's curved. It would be nice if the curve was flatter and the bottom less stiff since it hurts when I place the bag on my lap. 3. The front zipper pocket (not the hidden one) used to go all the way to the bottom of the backpack but this new version only goes halfway which is annoying since it limits what I can put there. 4. Lastly, the capacity of the backpack decreased so significantly.. I used to be able to stuff 8 textbooks no problem but now it fits 4 max.

Great backpack
Great backpack for my college daughter. She has a bad back and this is the only bag that doesn't bother her back.

love the color and design
My daughter wanted a bigger backpack for all her high school needs. This pack is the one. Has lots of room and different compartments to keep her items organized.

This is a great design of college backpack!
It has a much better top pocket that is user friendly and not literally top heavy and floppy like other NF backpack models I have owned. Love the color and trim. Now, I just need to keep it this light color clean! I have gotten so many compliments on it! Love it.

Great Bag...Too Small for My Needs
This is a well made and attractive backpack. The stitching is quality and it fits on your back very well. I love the specific design for women. I really loved the color scheme of grey and blue. The backpack has several different pockets making for an ease in organizing gear. Unfortunately, I had to return mine- but only because it was too small for my needs as an everyday carry bag. I would consider it a medium sized bag for a hike or short day trip. Everyone is different in their needs with regards to packing- so if you are a light packer or are just looking for a smaller bag- I would highly recommend this one.

On the heavier side
I love the color and looks, but it is a heavy backpack esp for travel or hikes. Also, the main compartment doesn't open up much so you can't put a whole lot in.

Good Bag!
It's pretty spacious and the side pockets are very spacious-big enough to hold a 40 ounce Owala, which many other bags cannot hold. The front compartment with the organizer is very useful, as well as the mesh pocket. This bag does not stand up very well, however, and tends to fall onto its front no matter what. The straps of the chest and hip buckles are rather long and hard to tuck away, which may be a bother to some, but I have found it alright.
