Why We Like The North Face Summit Chamlang FUTURELIGHT Pant
Whether we're bagging a peak for the glory of the view or hitting the skin track for the ultimate ride down, the Summit Chamlang FUTURELIGHT Pant is the gear for the job. This versatile shell from The North Face was crafted with the alpine in mind, without so many bells and whistles that these pants get boxed into one sport. The FUTURELIGHT 3-layer shell keeps snow and other moisture at bay, all while offering the airflow we need on our most active missions. Outer thigh vents aid in comfortable breathability, and with an articulated cut and mobility-friendly fit, there's no need to worry if we'll make it to our next checkpoint.

Exceptional Outerwear
I got my first pair of FUTURELIGHT pants as soon as they came out, and haven't worn anything else since. Super waterproof, exceptionally breathable for skinning uphill of just being in them from first chair right through the end of the day. I could not recommend them any more!

Great pair of pants
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought these pants for skiing and alpine ascents. The ventilation is great. I'm getting used to the pocket placement

Nice pant Great fit.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great pants. Minus one star because the leg pocket is a bit too small to fit a hand in with a glove on. It's even a tight fit without a glove on. If the zipper had been angles more rather than horizontal, this would have allowed a bigger opening.

Just... wow
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These pants are absolutely awesome, they fit well, breathe well, and climb well. I love the built in belt and the side pocket. They keep my legs super dry while ice climbing. The cut also allows them to articulate well when you are throwing your legs above your head :) If you need additional warmth, just throw on some leggings underneath and you are set, or unzip the side vent for those warmer approaches.

Great shell pants
Living in the arctic, the problem is often wind as opposed to temperature. There's a small period of the year, when the temps start dipping in the negatives (celsius) before it gets insulated snowpants time, where it's wet, a bit chilly but still super windy. The wind is what was ripping the warmth from my legs. With merino and pants under this shell, you can comfortably go down to -25c. With these on, wind disappeared and they ensure snow stays out with the cuffs at the bottom of the legs. Go a size higher than the chart. I am 175lbs, 5"9 and a size 33 regularly. I went for Large. You can cinch the waste to fit with the integrated "belt". Fantastic pants for multiple applications and well built, but expensive.
