Why We Like The Summit FUTUREFLEECE Full-Zip Hooded Jacket
It seems like everyone around us is wearing fleece tops made in the 70's and 80's, The North Face Summit FUTUREFLEECE Full-Zip Hooded Jacket is not that. This jacket uses a modern FUTUREFLEECE fabric to situate this piece as a technical midlayer rather then a casual pull-over. This new fleece fabric uses full-loops and octa-yarns to maximize warmth while minimizing weight so that we can move comfortably on backcountry tours or technical climbs.

Light, warm and breathable
I live and tour in the Tetons and this is my go to. Yesterday I wore this and a thermal in -2F as a skinned up and I felt great

If you ski you need this. Comfort level at the Max.
This is THE base layer for ski pants. As a ski instructor who's in a base layer more than half the month the comfort level on these are WAY better than the grid fleeces and A LOT more breathable. I hardly ever have to open my pant and pit zips on the slopes.

Returned to Backcountry
This product was too fragile for my use and tore the second time out on granite. I've had a Patagonia R1 thermal hoodie for over 10 years and it's just now starting to show wear.

The FutureFleece jacket has quickly become my favorite mid-layer for everything from backcountry touring and climbing to very cold trail runs, or just sitting in the office. When worn alone, this jacket has great breathability for keeping you cool. When you throw a shell over it, it quickly becomes an excellent insulating mid-layer. The fit is a slimmer close to body fit (think baselayer, then this jacket), but I’d say it’s true to size. Overall, I would definitely recommend this jacket to anyone looking for a versatile mid-layer with a great warmth-to-weight ratio. I plan on buying a second.

Great product, very expensive$$$$
This is an interesting layer. It has new tech fabring that is very comfortable and light. When I ordered it, I thught it was a jacket. It is not a jacket at all. It is a warm layer that is perfect for that.

Lacks quality control
Fits good, looks good. Great mid layer for high strenuous activity. Only reason it's not 5 stars is the thumb holes stitching is unraveling after less than a month of wear.

Future fleece, more than meets the eye
This future fleece is amazing!.. when you take it out of the package it's deceiving because it's not a thick material and you don't think it will be warm.. on the contrary, I pair the future fleece with a vest in weather when the temperature is under 50 degrees and I'm comfortable and my movement isn't restricted.. the only draw back is it doesn't have side pockets.. the breast pocket it does have is very helpful and I would definitely recommend this fleece to friends...

bit on the thin side
Thinner than expected. Still warm, but not an outer wear type garment
