Why We Like The North Face Summit Verbier GTX Jacket
The North Face's big-mountain Summit Verbier GTX Jacket blends backcountry and resort features to create the perfect shell for the powder-hungry. With eco-conscious updates, including recycled fabric and a PFC-free DWR finish, this articulated shell offers more than simple snowproof protection. GORE-TEX technology provides the reliable coverage we need while hiking through storms and surfing through powder, and a helmet-compatible hood and grippy powder skirt prevent any loose pow from sneaking in the top or bottom. Massive alpine-style pockets keep backcountry equipment close, or while we're in bounds, a zippered pass sleeve on the pocket lets us scan for access to the lift in a flash.

Worth the $
All around great piece. Skinning up or shredding down this jacket was made for the elements.

Well designed functionality
Replacing an older TNF Goretex hard shell that held up for a very long time until the zippers failed. First impressions is that the number of pockets and their positioning is exactly the type of thing you didn't know you needed until you have it. Feels light and offers good maneuverability. Just roomy enough that layering with mid layer doesn't feel bulky and stuffed. Although the armpit area is a bit snug, I have a Denali fleece so maybe the newer FutureFleece models will fit better. I have high hopes this jacket will hold up for years snowboarding here on our icy slopes. I'm already liking the tech designed into this jacket.

Tony Stark's Snowboard Jacket
This jacket is so advanced, I'm starting to think Tony Stark designed it in his spare time. It's like wearing a mini Iron Man suit on the mountain - flying although will be up to you. Highly recommend. Medium size 5'9" 180lbs.
