VE 25 Tent delivers expedition-level durability, weatherproofing, and space for alpine adventures in the harshest conditions
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"The VE 25 is my go-to for extreme alpine conditions. It handles intense winds, heavy snow, and everything else the mountains throw at it. The ventilation keeps it fresh inside, and the dual doors and vestibules make it easy to share the space."
When the weather turns savage and the world outside becomes a swirling whiteout, The North Face VE 25 Tent stands strong. Engineered for alpine expeditions and extreme conditions, this 3-person, 4-season tent offers unwavering protection, durability, and comfort where it matters most.
Its double-wall design combines breathable ripstop nylon with fully taped seams and PU coatings to keep moisture at bay during prolonged exposure. DAC poles and Kevlar-reinforced guylines create a rock-solid frame capable of withstanding howling winds and heavy snow loads.
Inside, eight internal pockets and hanger loops keep gear organized, while high-low venting prevents condensation buildup during multi-day stays. Dual doors with vestibules offer convenient entry and gear storage, and the PU port window lets us peek outside without braving the elements.
From remote mountain faces to windswept glaciers, the VE 25 Tent isn’t just a shelter—it’s a sanctuary built to endure the harshest environments on Earth.

We LOVE this tent!
We love, love, LOVE this tent so much! We received our first one as a wedding gift and had it for over 17 years. We had to retire it once the fly ceased being waterproof and was deemed by North Face to not be fixable under warranty. We went a year without camping because we couldn't find this tent anywhere in stock. I patiently checked North Face every month to see if it was back in stock, which it finally was this winter and I scooped one up immediately! It is very heavy. We used it for backpacking a few times, which was fine. We just shared the weight. But mostly we use it for car camping, which to many may seem overkill to use this tent for car camping but we camp for long stretches of time from early May through late fall and want to be warm, dry, and comfortable, and this tent is perfect. We like the 3-person as well because it is roomy - my husband is 6'3". You will not be disappointed with this tent - you are dry during a hard rainstorm and warm when the snow flies. If this tent holds up for 17 years as our first one did, I will be camping into my 60s with it!

Best 4 season tent tou there
VE 25 is the best 4 season tent out there. Super strong. A little heavy, but it's the gold standard to measure other 4 season tents against.

Top of the line tent for wintery adventures
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Most durable and high quality tent you can ask for. Perfect for a winter base camp - needs to be divided between climbers due to the size and weight. Besides that...it's perfect.

I would buy this again if I live long enough to need to
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A palace that was indifferent about high winds. Good quality. Good ventilation. This tent might very well outlive me.

Norh Face does not have ground sheet for older models
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I own an old version of this tent. When I lost the tent, I still had the rain fly and poles, which can be set up in the fast fly version. But I also lost the ground sheet. North face no longer has a ground sheet that fits this tent. Or they will refuse to sell one separately From the newer model. Would love to see them start selling the ground sheets.

I've used this for the past 20 yrs.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought my VE-25 in 2004 for a Denali trip. TNF warranties this for life. I've had to replace one pole due to heavy snows in CA where we got too lazy to continue clearing the tent from snowfall every hour and woke up with a partial collapse. My original fly's seams delaminated and TNF replaced it with the newest version which is still compatible. My window just popped out on it like the guide in Peru noted. But TNF just fixed it and It's ready to take back out.

Good Times if It Doesn't Rain
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My cousin recommended this tent, as he used it when climbing Denali and he loved it. After much additional research into 4-season tents, my brother and I split the cost on this one, as it's pretty pricey. That was two years ago. Since then we've used it about five times and have had trouble with the rainfly. Last winter the plastic window in the front entrance of the fly fell out in explicably. This winter (Jan of 2024) we brought it camping in a steady, but not intense rain, and the entire fly started leaking. When we peeked through the vents, we could see drips covering the underside of the dome. It was quite surprising and also frustrating, as those leaks started to pour in an all over my sleeping bag and elsewhere. Fortunately we had a spare tarp and we lashed that over the top so we'd make it through the night above water (it was mid-30's Fahrenheit outside as well). Instead of a 4-season tent, I'd call this a 3-season tent. As long as it's cold enough, we'll likely still take it out, but not if there's a chance of rain at all.

Bad to the BONE!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We camp. Recently I camped at Big Sur campground in California. That night was forecasted to receive heavy rains in excess of 1"/hr. The storm did not disappoint. I selected a spot in the camp on a slight angle so water would drain from under the tent. It rained so much that the entire campground was flooded in under 2" of water. The VE-25 kept us dry. Dry like a California drought. Would def. recommend this tent to you. The ventilation system kept the insides condensation free. The multiple doors is a nice touch. Lots of vestibule space. Always keep the tent pointed into the wind.

Sturdy tent
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I finally broke down after 20yrs of enjoying my 3-4 season NF Nebula tent. It's the closest I could find to hvy durability my old NF tent offered. The tent is heavy though and best divided among others in a group.
