Works great for the extra
Works great for the extra insulation/cushioning I wanted. Happy that this quality product is still being made.

One of the best for what it is.
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I use it under my inflatable sleeping pad or throw it down for the dogs. Not much to say about these type of foam mats since there is nothing fancy going on here but out of the options this is one of the best. its taken a beating and still going. Ive used it as a sleeping pad, dog mat, rolled up and used as a seat cushion on rocks, a pillow, vestibule door mat and tent footprint on a 1 man tent, if i was a little lighter id try it as a raft.

Owned one before and liked
Owned one before and liked it but have evolved to a big agnes q core deluxe pad however im doing a 242 mile river trip in october and wanted a back up pad should the q core pad experience issues. I have repair kits, but having the ridgerest pad there in addition gives me of mind that no matter what, im protected from the hard cold ground.

Too hard
The size is great, and I'm almost 6', but the sleeping pad is hard. The hard surface combined with ridges makes it even more uncomfortable than if it were smooth. I would have preferred a softer version.

Prefer older, shorter version
I have had your almost identical Ridgerest mat for about 5 years. I adore everything about it. I use it for yoga/meditation/stretching at home. The new mat is about 6-8 inches longer. Prefer the shorter one.

Excellent all-purpose use
I love these old school RidgeRest Classic's. I keep them in my cars, and my shed, and around the house. Any time I have to get down on my knees or look under my car or exercise on the floor / ground. They do the trick. My only disappointment is that they were only offered in the largest size when I purchased recently. For my purposes, the old medium size was perfect. I plan to cut these down but I just haven't gotten around to it.

Used it on my cot
Used it on my cot and was surprised how much different the temperature was without it. Light weight, good bang for your buck.

Great Value for the Price!
I bought the RidgeRest Classic for a camping trip in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. I had been using a backpacking inflatable (small) sleeping pad from another company. This pad kept deflating during the night and got holes in it too easily. I needed a pad that would not get holes in it and could survive if my three year old and 18 month old children decided to be monkeys in the tent. The RidgeRest Classic seems light and rolls up nicely into a compact shape for packing. It is made from a material that can withstand rugged conditions but is also comfortable for sleeping.

Perfect, straight forward, not fancy... can't poke a hole in it! Used the pads for years... glad to see the pad available again!

Therm-a-rest's website lists the R-value for this pad as 2.0 on their website. Here it's 2.8, does anyone know which one is right? (Seems like Therm-a-rest is in the process of updating these pads and I think the R-value is dropping across the product lines)
