Works as described
My wife and I used this product to secure two sleeping pads (also Thermarest) together during a 5-night backpacking trip in the Grand Canyon. We wanted to have our own equipment (there was a chance we needed to sleep apart one of the nights), but also wanted to combine our bedding. We used two sleeping bags that zipped together, and we found that our pads would slide apart (even in our small two person tent) unless we used these straps. The only con is that it takes some time to unfold the straps, wrap them around the sleeping pads, and snug them up. When we added that to inflating two pads, unrolling two sleeping bags and zipping them together, we had a rather lengthy bedtime routine. But we slept well, and I'd recommend this product.

Limited Avenues for Feedback and No Learning Curve at MSR
I'm using this on two Luxury Map Pads ... an application where it works fine. Comparing these straps to ones I ordered in the past I find they're exactly the same size. Using them for two Mondo Kings is a different story where they work only after a struggle. Apparently you've decided it's not worth adding an inch or two to the length of the webbing to solve a problem that is so specific. Also there seems to be no way comment on the lack of a way to use MSR pumps to help deflate these types of pads.

Only until someone makes one with a little longer straps
I use the couple kit to connect two large Mondo King Pads and it works but the straps are just BARELY long enough to do the job. In fact I have to to deform the pads to get enough slack to thread the straps through the buckles. Once together the kit works fine. It would be SO much better if the straps were an inch or two longer,

No horrible gaps!
Purchased these straps several years ago, and am happy that my wife and I can cuddle dispite the sleeping bags. The gap that would form before usually ended in a sore hip and shoulder but not anymore.

Great Idea
This is a great idea, but I cant figure out how the two ""X"" straps are to be used to attach the pads. There was no diagram or instructions that came with my purchase...
