With the Thule Passage 2 Bike Strap Rack you’ll be able to free up some treasured trunk space on your next trip by safely transporting your whips on a reliable rack. The Passage mounts quickly and gently to your trunk with six adjustable nylon straps with vinyl-coated buckles. Once the rack is attached, the FitDial system allows you to fine-tune the ideal fit. Thule includes SoftCushion pads to secure your bikes and prevent them from crashing into each other and the back of the vehicle. The Passage’s narrow cradle arms fit a wide range of bikes (including child frames), and fold down when they’re not in use.

Great rack! Just one improvment needed…
I got this rack to fit my BMW 230i and works great. The only thing I needed to change is the strap that holds the rack in the horizontal plane (most fwd lip of the trunk lid). The original that comes with the rack is just a hook. If the strap loses tension, i.e. like breaking and the rack tilts fwd, it can get detached and bye bye bikes. I replaced with a different kind of strap that ends in a round stopper that gets trap inside the trunk, highly recommended: (Saris bike rack hatch huggers). Hope this helps!

Does the job

Not meant for mountain bikes
Set up was easy and quick. Unfortunately the front part of my bike frame is too large for the holder and having a full suspension bike stops you from being able to use the anti-sway clip. This results in the bike not feeling like it’s securely mounted. This carrier would be great for a road bike or a hard-tail mtb.

Ok but durability of parts is poor
Purchased about 2 months ago. Using daily. The rubber hold down straps and the carriers to hold the bike in place are not very durable. The carriers that cradle the bike where the straps attach are not made well. Durability a major issue. In use since 08 2023

It's ok.
I purchased the 2 bike Thule passage. It is pretty easy to install although, there is a few things I do not like. Starting off with the fact that it has no "locking features" such as being able to lock it into my car, so it isn't so easy to steal. Literally someone can just loosen up the straps and take the bike rack with no problem. With that being said I have to take it off when I get to my ride location, finish my ride re-install it. Which is a small hassle but still annoying. Another thing I do not like is that when I'm driving on the freeway my bike tends to swing. I know it's secured but it still makes me feel un-easy. Definitely not what I expected, then I tried to return it or exchange it, but I couldn't because I signed up for the pro-deal as an emergency responder, and now I'm stuck with a product that was not cheap and that I do not like.

Solid trunk rack
Solid trunk rack that does what I need it to do and is compatible with many cars. I’m able to move it between different cars and also any future car I may get will likely work!

New to Thule
I got this bike rack because I am moving cross country. I needed something reliable for my bike. I’m halfway through the 2500 mile trip and it’s great! I still have my bike! Super easy to load my bike and to set up the bike rack. Pleased with my purchase.

Love It
Pretty easy to mount once you do it the first time. Easy on, easy off. Secure fit to car and to bike. Straps are much longer than I need but maybe other users will be grateful for the extra length. Stable and secure.
