Lovely Fall Corduroys, Sizing Needs Work

I had high hopes for these pants due to their stylish wide-leg cut, corduroy fabric perfect for fall, and elevated casual vibe. Unfortunately, I had significant issues with the sizing. I initially ordered a size 6, which was much too large in both the waist and hips. Hoping for a better fit, I exchanged them for a size 4. While the smaller size was a slight improvement in the hips, the waist was still quite large, making the overall fit less than ideal. The fabric and style are lovely, and I can see the potential in these pants for someone whose proportions align with the sizing. However, the inconsistency in fit was disappointing and ultimately led to my decision to return them. If you’re considering these pants, you may want to size down or be prepared for some alterations.

I ordered two pairs of toad & co pants according to the size chart. These cords hit more like a mid-rise pant, and the waistband was way too big. I am typically size 4 in pants and 27 in jean, so I went with the 4. They fit fine otherwise, but the waist was gapping intensely. Meanwhile the size 4 balsam seeded cutoff pant fit as expected, no gapping, with a slightly higher rise. I was disappointed because these were well made and comfortable. For reference I am 5’4”, 135 lbs. I’ll be returning because I’m not sure that the elastic waistband style could be taken in for a better fit.
