When doing any sort of multi-pitch climbing, I've been in enough situations to know that a knife is an essential part of the rack!!! If you ever need to bail off of something big, it's incredibly handy to have a tool you can use to cut rope or slings to create rap anchors or for other self rescue applications. This guy provides all the sense of security knowing you're prepared, while being lightweight enough to leave clipped to the back of a harness or a rack and forget it's ever there. By far the most minimal design I've seen in this category--definite winner from Trango!! ***UPDATE*** It's been awhile since I left this review but I now own 4 of these. Not only are they perfect for climbing but this guy will live on every set of keys I own. The serrated blade is incredibly high quality and it's fantastic for cutting boxes or any other random tasks that come up on a given day, when your EDC knife is at home or out of reach. Great backup knife to clip to day packs etc as well. Never leave home without a knife again!
