Why We Like The Symbioz Hyperflex Adjust Snowshoe
TSL's Symbioz is a hyper-flexible snowshoe that handles technical trails as well as casual strolls. Despite its flexibility, the frame still has carbon inserted in key areas to assure torsional rigidity and proper shock attenuation. TSL paired this innovative frame with a Boa-fitted binding that boasts universal compatibility with any boot. Flipping the dial delivers instantaneous fitting that's secure enough for tracking powder. Bi-directional crampons place stainless steel teeth to give traction on the uphill, downhill, and inclines.

So comfortable
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Size Bought:
- Large (I am 6 feet 190 lbs)
I have recently begun the process of backcountry snowboarding. The snowshoes are a great alternative to split-boarding. These snowshoes are really fast and effective on hard-packed/groomed snow, but a little difficult in the soft and untracked stuff. I am faster on groomed than the guys I hike with on skiis and skins, but they are certainly faster on the unbroken trails than I am. I love the flexible yet aggressive stance of the shoe, and I love the heel riser. I wish there were a second stage to set the heel riser higher for steeper slopes. All in all, I love the shoes!

Great Snowshoes, Almost perfect
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I had these for a full season. They are great snowshoes, have done a few back country hikes up ascending and descending mountains. I like the ease of getting into and out of them. I was using a pair of MSR Evo ascent, but dislike that it was a buckle system, so it took a while to get in and out of them. With the TSL, it was a boa and binding setup. Yesterday, I ended up doing a backcountry hike and the boa system clip broke. I had to use nylon so that I wouldn't be stranded. The snow was deep and soft and walking out on foot would have been miserable. Good Snowshoes, but there is a weak link on the boa system.
