Outlander 3L Hydration Pack
When you're toeing the line on race day it might be tempting to skip the hydration pack to shed weight, and instead opt for water bottle hand outs from neutral support. This may work for some riders, but we'd argue that staying hydrated throughout the whole race will boost your performance level, power, and endurance. USWE crafts the Outlander 3L Hydration Pack to be light enough for race day, and totally bounce-free. The pack uses a removable organizer pocket for stashing tools and gear, which snaps off when you want to keep things streamlined, changing the pack down to a 2L size. It comes ready to roll with a reversible HydraPack Elite 1.5 Liter Bladder that's dishwasher safe for easy cleaning, and capable of holding liquids as hot as 140-degrees F, should you need a warm up on a frosty ride.
Perhaps the most notable feature of USWE's Outlander is its unique retention system. In lieu of the typical straps we see on most packs, USWE employs the NDM (short for No Dancing Monkey) Race Suspension Harness. The harness consists of four stretchy elastic straps that are adjustable to fit a variety of riders. The straps secure in the center of the chest, creating a totally bounce-free fit, even when fully loaded, without hindering breathing or range of motion.

I had this item to replace my small fox hydration pack, and it was the best decision. It has a lot more space to take tools and snacks. Also is super comfortable when I am riding. Great product

Great LITTLE pack

This is an excellent very small pack. USWE seems to include the bladder in overall capacity, which is fine, but be aware. As far a capacity the main body holds the 1.5L bladder and not much else. The removable piggy back bag holds a tube and a few tools, a rain jacket, or a first aid kit, emphasis on one not all of the above. The No Dancing Monkey harness works well for me, but might be less ideal for a ample chested woman. It was kind of a weird fit on my wife. It is simple, stable, and adjustable, but not quite the game changer one might be led to belive from the ad copy. Another plus for me is that USWE offers this pack in bright colors, for increased visibility. All in all, I like this pack a lot, but I ended up getting the Outlander 9L in addition to the 3L, for longer rides where I need more water or extra layers. In retrospect I might just get the 9L and call it good, but I have used the 3L version and find it works great for short rides, or situations where I'm carrying a lot of my gear on the bike.

Snug, but not tight.

A very comfortable fit and true to the "No Dancing Monkey" motto. The 'Crazy Yellow' makes it very traffic-friendly for those low-viz dawn/dusk ride times. The clip-on pouch does droop a little with a heavy multi-tool or tube in, but on the other hand, it's plenty big enough to easily fit snacks, small tools, and a light jacket.

Small!
The hydration pack is 1.5 L, not 3L as the title says

Works great one issue
Functions perfect but on those long rides 1.5L of vodka can make things get a little sketchy… stick with water if you can

Small pack perfect for a few hours
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Used on several rides and so far, zero complaints. The small external bag and the interior pocket fits a phone, snack, wallet and keys along with a few small miscellaneous like a spare tube. Mount tools on the bike and it?s perfect for a few hours. Downside is that this model doesn?t come with the quick disconnect or the angled valve, but those are available aftermarket, and this is a competitive price. Harness works as advertised?hands-down better than most brands/packs in this range?making it a tough decision between this and my go-to waist pack. Bonus, this bag does fit a 2L Hydrapack, but it?s a tight squeeze. Can?t speak to durability yet, so four stars. If it holds up, this is a new favorite.

Kept leaking on me at first
I don't know who designed this thing, but my uncle and I had to both work together to shove the stupid tube into the port it's supposed to go in. There's no locking mechanism for it. You have to push it in with blunt force. And good luck, it wasn't easy. Other than that, it was a great pack and it didn't leak on me anymore after we got the hose seated.
