Bought for an every day shoe and I don’t regret it. Great boot for $100. Pros Lightweight feel Comfortable Quick break in Cons I have wide feet and these are a bit narrow for me. I wouldn’t wear on a long hike for this reason. The tread is less grippy than my keen targhee 2s and aren’t great in the ice and snow.

Still breaking them in

Purchased the Vasque Talus AT due to having two Vasque boots in the past that have proven their fit and longevity. Initially found the the boots to be tight in the little toe area from the side and top. Hopefully, with continuous usage, the material will soften and become more flexible since a wide width for 11/11.5 is hard to find.

Comfortable Fit

After a few lacing adjustments and some break in time I found this boot to be well-fitting. The sole is grippy the tongue is fully gusseted and overall should be good for average trail use and/or urban hiking. Will recommend and buy again.

Lovely boots, short life
I bought a pair of these last November (about 10 months ago as of writing). They're very comfortable and capable, and quickly became my go-to daily shoes. I know that I wear my shoes pretty hard, and wearing them every day doesn't help, but I've worn the sole almost flat and I'm starting to experience loss of traction because of it. Compared to other footwear I've owned, I feel like this is shockingly short, especially with a vibram sole, I can usually expect to get at least a year or 18 months out of a pair of shoes. It's disappointing having to part with a shoe that I otherwise like quite a lot because of wear. As far as I know, these aren't a style that Red Wing can resole, which means I have to buy another pair, and I don't think I can justify getting these again if this will happen again.

Handled the rugged terrain of Iceland

So glad I bought these boots for a fall trip to Iceland. They were warm, durable, fairly comfortable and provided good traction in snow and wet rocky trails. I am confident they will give me years of use... and they even look great.

Great right out of the box
I considered other boots such as the Salomon and Merrell (I own both brands in a dedicated insulated winter hiker), but I was drawn to these boots by the price, appearance and the connection to Red Wing. These boots performed great right out of the box. My size 12 foot had plenty of room in these boots and didn't feel cramped at all. I hiked a 1000' elevation gain trail over the weekend on a semi-hot day and my feet were comfortable and did not feel overheated at all in this boot. I had no problems with grip on exposed rock at the summit. Vasque has just won me over. I love these boots so much that I am going to buy a second pair in the other color way soon.
