Agarro G2.0 Trail 4C Tire

All-mountain riding calls for a tire that walks a fine line in between cross-country and enduro. To start, you need something more robust than the featherweight XC hoops, but without the heavyweight commitment of an enduro-minded tire. Vittoria's Agarro G2.0 Trail 4C Tire aims to please with a balance between the two, providing considerably more grip than the Barzo cross-country tire, but without enduro bulk of the Martello. It offers leading edge steps, which work similarly to a ramped lug, but provides better climbing grip when things get technical and steep. Progressive sipes offer tactile grip on rocks and roots, which is particularly advantageous when things start to get a little slick. Vittoria employs its 4C Graphene 2.0 compound on the Agarro, which utilizes four different durometers of rubber in the treat, each one stratigically placed for the best combination of low rolling resistance, cornering stability, grip, and longevity. Graphene 2.0 takes Vittoria's original Graphene-infused compound and betters it in every way, with special attention given to wet-weather performance.

I just got the new tire on my bike

I replaced a worn enduro tire on the rear wheel. The new Agarro seems grippier than the beat-up old tire. Imagine that! Who woulda thunk that new rubber is grippier than well-worn rubber? And after 4 rides it's still going strong!

Do not buy this tire!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I road less than 1/2 mile on some cross country single-track and got a cut in the sidewall that needed a plug. I thought it was just bad luck. The very next ride I again got a larger hole in the tread that also needed a plug. I am going to try and get some store credit or maybe a discount as this tire is worthless. I took it off and put on another Maxxis.

Mixed Results

I usually love Vittoria tires, but had one cut on the main part of the tread within the first 10 miles of use. This was in Moab on Cap Ahab. It was unrepairable and I walked. Maybe this is a one time very off chance deal, but it made me question the durability. The front is holding fine and holds corners well. Vittoria tires in general tend to role nice and have an exceptional ride quality (quiet and soft). Two star ding on these only because of the very early flat where I essentially threw $60 out the window. Used a Maxxis agressor the rest of the trip without issue. Not a huge maxxis fanboy, but it did hold up better and was exposed to WAY more abuse the Agarro was.

Great tire for Northern Utah trails...

So much hype out there over Enduro style tires, but in all actuality, do you really need such a heavy over built tire? The Agarro's have turned out to be a perfect front and rear combo for almost every Northern Utah trail I have ridden this year. Granted, I am not dropping a straight downhill lined with jagged rocks. Great traction, cornering ability, low rolling resistance and puncture protection. Very easy to mount with just a floor pump. The only time I wish I had something with bigger side knobs is in a really dusty washed out corner - something I encounter less than 5% of my ride. If you are riding any trails in the Park City, Ogden, Salt Lake area, I would give these a hard look.
