Does it all

The Backwoods split is an all-time favorite for me. This board surfs pow with so much play and nimbleness. The directional taper allows me to ride a 152 with a pack and not have to worry about sinking my 5'6" 160lb self. The only area that it isn't utterly perfect in is the chunderiest of snow in which case I like the one step stiffer of the Ridgeline.

I debated 157 vs 160. Eventually I went 160 and happy I did. I test rode this board at my local lift accessed resort. The size was perfect. This board rides smaller than it is. My other solid boards are 152 (volume shifted), 158 (twin) and 159 (freeride). I was concerned the 160 would be too large. Not the case. This board handles so well and seems to have the best attributes of my other boards all in one (float, nimbleness, edge hold and changeability through crud). Looking forward to taking this in the backcountry once I have my skills and safety education complete.

As the title says, the Weston Backwoods is THE splitboard for tight New England glades. The Backwoods loves making tight turns, darting between birch trees all the while the large nose keeps you floating above the pow! The short tail is perfect for slipping around trees as you hammer through the glades and the rugged polyamid top sheet keeps snow from sticking. When your legs are too burnt to make short tight, turns, pop out onto the trail and lay beautiful arching turns in the corduroy! And don’t worry, there’s plenty of camber underfoot for when things are less powdery!

Pow Shape but More

This board definitely has a pow board DNA with the rocker wide nose but it really hold its own everywhere on the mountain. I'm able to get it edge to edge really easily in very tight trees (which is often the case in the PNW). But it's rigid and damp enough to high speeds. When I travel for touring, I definitely have powder in mind but conditions can't be controlled. So it's so great to have the Backwoods so I know it will be great for ideal soft snow conditions but still super capable if snow isn't piling up.

Swiss army split!

The perfect go-to ride for any situation. This is a pow centric board that won't let you down in variable or poor conditions. I like to think of it as the one board does it all kind of ride, a true quiver killer! Between its performance and durability makes for an extremely reliable ride! from trees to steeps from ice to pow it gets the job done. definitely the go to choice regardless of conditions!

This board really can do it all. From ripping big open faces, to surfing tight trees, to bottomless face shots this board feels right at home. The directional set up feels super surfy and turns on a dime. While in big terrain it feels great just opening it up. You can score pow turns in the northern aspects then rip corn in the south all in the same day feels like this board is just made for it. When I'm not sure what the conditions are going to be I’m pulling the Backwoods off the shelf (also most days when I do know what the conditions are).

This is the board you want. Lightweight, durable, and an absolute blast to ride. I have used this board in a variety of conditions and terrain, and have yet to be disappointed. Long runs down volcanos, back-to-back gladed laps, open bowls, technical lines, and even the variable! Truly love this thing.
