No elastic on the wrists
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
tTypically I wear Burton AK and I'm looking for similar quality with a bit more style, so I wanted to love this jacket. But from a technical perspective, there's one major flaw for me that will keep me reaching for my AK everytime-- there's no elastic on the wrists of this jacket and no sleeve for your hand. Wind/snow just shoots right up the wrist. I would have expected they'd considered that detail given the brand name, but I guess not?

Wanted to like it

Thought this jacket would be great - from the picture, it looks slouchy in a good way. It is not - thought it would be a little longer in back, but it actually the same length all around. The whole jacket gives a marshmallow-like look and is shorter than anticipated. For reference, I'm 5'8" and am a small. Also, the quality just didn't seem comparable to similarly priced brands (this is really just based on feel since I never wore it on the mountain - the fabric felt very thin, but maybe it's just a high tech fabric that is lightweight). Finally, didn't like the idea of not having venting under the arms (just a personal preference). On the positive side, it did feel like a warm jacket, and the blue color is very pretty. Really wanted to like it- there is really room for more fashion forward designs at this price point, but they are hard to find. Important to note that the backcountry gearheads were super helpful.
