Why We Like The Wild Country Friend Cam Set 1, 2, 3
There's at least one cam in this Wild Country New Friend Set that would fit in a crack that suits your hand-jam perfectly. One might feel too small, and the other too large—or some other combination—but at least one will slide into a crack as perfectly as your mitt. Given Wild Country was the first company to sell the original camming device, you can rest assured that they've had the longest to research an ideal construction. The 13.75° camming angle is the ideal angle for secure placements, and the high-friction faces keep the cam positioned exactly how you want it. The Dyneema sling is extendable so you can leave your alpine draws at home.

Great cams!
I've used a bunch of the common brands, and Wild Country continue to be my favorite cams for sizes 1-3. The trigger action is smooth, the head shape fits in placements that some competitors don't, and I love having the extendable sling for those placements that need a bit of extra length but don't need to be completely extended. These have always been super confidence-inspiring on hard routes, and with the expert voice discount it's hard to beat them on price. 10/10, would buy these again for sure.

Haven't died yet
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I bought these at the start of COVID when BD cams were sold out everywhere. I love the extendable sling, they trigger just as well as all the camelots I've used. And I'm happy to run them on my rack. It's also nice not having to bring quickdraws, just alpine draws and the extendable slings on these and I'm set. I loved them so much I bought doubles in the Zero friends. I climb mostly in the Gunks and ADKs.
