Why We Like The Wild Country Pro-Key Nut Tool + Leash
When we're the second, we ensure the Wild Country Pro-Key Nut Tool + Leash is clipped to our harness. The strategically shaped tip hooks triggers of walked-back cams and fits into tiny constrictions to work out jammed nuts. As we knock and pry, the wide, flat end saves our palm from getting battered, while the steel construction resists bending and breaking under the pressure. And if the Pro Key slips out of our hand, the extendable leash catches it.

Bust a nut
Can't go trad climbing without bringing a nut tool. the lanyard and built-in carabiner make it light and easy to use.

Not for Big wall climbing
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Was stoked on this until I took it on the maiden voyage of my first wall. Maybe a surprise to hear for some but hammers are nice for removing bass stoppers on walls. I was blown away when the tool broke in half when I went to remove the second nut ever with it. Managed to use what was left for the wall but suspect this tool wasn’t designed to handle the force of a hammer. Will reporpose the leash but thought I’d mention it for other wall climbers that this isn’t a good option!

Wild Country (Super-Duper) Pro Leash
I purchased this nut tool about 5 years ago when I bought my Wild Country Classic Rocks. Amazingly, the leash helps when getting nitty gritty and removing a properly welded nut or some crag booty without dropping your tool at height. Once when teaching a beginner on the ground, they accidentally got my brand new cam stuck in an inwards flaring crack, I used the tool to chip away and open the granite enough to get my new toy back. The pro key didn't take the slightest damage as I sawed and bashed away at the tough quartzite granite. Pros: -> Durable -> Leash and carabiner style clip to keep it neat on the harness -> Slim profile w/ a large surface area to use it as a "hammer" Cons: -> None Suggestion: Similar to Metolius, I think cutouts usable to tighten bolts would be nice. I do not think this is a necessity or a downfall of the product. Also, I think the leash attachment part could be larger, but I have no issue with my Arcteryx AR385-a XS harness.

Strong and Super Useful
This was sturdy enough not to feel cheep. The band on it is strong. Got caught in a rock when dropped and was perfectly fine. The surface area on the back side for knocking out nuts was small enough to be streamlined but also big enough to get a good clean, easy hit.
