Why We Like The Yeti ASR C3 GX Transmission Mountain Bike
Yeti went full race mode with the newest bike to their lineup, sparking innovation with a tried and true platform to bring us a thoroughbred race machine. The Yeti ASR is a short-travel, cross-country race bike that was designed to be the lightest and fastest full-suspension bike Yeti has produced to date. The ASR's updated Flex Stay suspension system is a game-changer for XC racing, turning our energy into forward movement while ensuring a plush but supportive mid-stroke. The 66.5-degree head tube angle has us just as confident on wide-open sprints as we are on the race's final descent, and a forward-biased position ensures an evenly weighted bike for agile handling. A low but not too low bottom bracket height gives us added stability at high speeds, while the 75.5-degree seat tube angle ensures an efficient platform over the pedals for climbing. The ASR is not only more capable and modern, but it's light too. A unique carbon layering process maximizes strength and stiffness while eliminating excess material to save weight, while size-specific carbon profiles with optimized material usage, stiffness, and chassis flex ensure the perfect strength-to-weight ratio for every frame size. Yeti went a step further and shaved off more material from the rear axle and the suspension link while ensuring the strength and stiffness stayed the same. The end result has the ASR weighing in at just over a measly four pounds for the frame and shock. Additional features on the ASR include two water bottle mounts, tubed internal cable routing, an integrated rear fender, and SRAM's Universal Derailleur Hanger.
The C3 GX Transmission build of the Yeti ASR equips the rider with the C-series carbon frame, featuring size-specific carbon layups for the ideal stiffness and strength-to-weight ratio. The SRAM GX Transmission drivetrain boasts shifts with electronic precision and has a super durable and replaceable design for longevity. The SID Select 120mm fork taunts the most aggressive xc courses, while the RockShox SidLuxe Select+ rear shock has us maintain traction through the hairiest of situations. DT Swiss M1900 wheels combined with DT Swiss's 350 hubs offer technical performance and an upgraded internal ratchet for more engagement. This build is complemented by features such as a Fox Transfer SL Performance dropper post, SRAM Level TL brakes, and a Burgtec cockpit.
*Due to a high demand in the global supply chain and bike industry since the start of the pandemic, material weight and exact components are subject to change. We are working diligently to keep tech
