Why We Like The Yeti SB140 T3 TLR X0 Eagle T-Type 29in Mountain Bike
Whether we are crushing flowy singletrack or hitting the jump lines with the boys, the SB140 is the superbike we want to be on. We love the SB140 for its aggressive design, premium suspension platform, and 29-inch wheels. At the heart of all Yeti bikes is the Switch Infinity suspension platform, which utilizes a unique translating pivot design that moves up and down through the bike's suspension travel to give us better small bump sensitivity, mid-stroke support, and bottom-out resistance. The Yeti SB140 features a slack 65-degree headtube angle to give us confidence as we slash down steep, technical descents. Size-specific seat tube angles ensure we all get an efficient pedaling position, and size-specific chainstays allow every rider to have a playful and poppy bike, no matter what frame size we are on. Yeti revised their frames this year, giving us 34 more millimeters of clearance under the bottom bracket to protect against rock strikes. The Switch Infinity system also received an update, giving us a smaller, more compact design, more durable, corrosion-resistant bearings, floating collet pivot axles for enhanced stiffness, and a new bushing design for greater sensitivity. The SB140's progression curve was updated to a more linear 14 percent, giving us more small bump sensitivity and better mid-stroke support. The final third of its progression curve becomes more progressive as you move through the travel for more bottom-out resistance, meaning we can ride harder, be more comfortable and have more protection from bottoming out the shock on big hits. This version of the Yeti SB140 is the Lunch Ride version, featuring 10 millimeters more fork travel, a piggyback rear shock, knobbier tires, more powerful brakes, bigger rotors, and wider and higher-rise handlebars that all aid in more aggressive riding.
The T3 TLR X0 Eagle Transmission AXS build of the Yeti SB140 features top-tier components and Yeti's premium carbon frame. Yeti's TURQ carbon frame utilizes the best carbon fiber to give us a stiffer and lighter frame. SRAM's new X0 Transmission AXS drivetrain gives us the latest technology in the electronic shifting world, sporting a nearly indestructible design, an overload clutch to automatically realign our derailleur when it takes a hit, and of course, flawless electronic shifting. A Fox Factory 36 Grip2 fork with 160mm of travel gives us tons of compression and rebound adjustments and is known for its premium suspension performance. Fox's Factory Float X rear shock features a compression switch for climbing and is lightweight, supportive, and has compression and rebound adjustments. SRAM's top-of-the-line Code RSC brakes provide us with 4-pistons of power to stop on a dime, and the brake lever has a contact adjust wheel for getting our pistons in the correct position every time. DT Swiss XM1700 rims are quality alloy rims paired with DT Swiss's 350 hub, which includes an upgraded 36-tooth ratchet engagement for quicker power to the wheels. Top it off with premium Maxxis DHF and DHRII tires, and we have a trail machine capable of handling just about anything you can throw at it.
*Due to a high demand in the global supply chain and bike industry since the start of the pandemic, material weight and exact components are subject to change. We are working diligently to keep tech specs updated, and any adjustments will be of equal or better spec level.
