No one knows what's going on

I placed a backorder on this item 10/5 and ended up cancelling 10/29. Of the 10 times I reached out to customer service, no one knew if or when the item would actually be backordered. Zipp even said they had the items in stock with their suppliers. Finally, a helpful rep said there was no intention of backordering. This was an extremely disappointing experience of Backcountry letting you order and never intending to fulfill until 4 weeks down the road. Order with caution, don't expect Backcountry to fulfill an item they let you backorder.
