A huge disappointment
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
The EQUIPE RS Spring Fall Bib Tights looked to be my answer to those in between fall/winter days, but after using them many times I am highly disappointed. First of all, the sizing chart is a bit suspect. I ordered a large and fit the profile almost exactly, but the knickers were on the small size. The biggest problem is the length of the legs. It barely covers your knees and as a result badly bunches up behind the knees as you are riding. They really need to be several inches longer. Secondly, the chamois pad is thinner than in many racing bibs, and does not provide enough comfort for even medium length rides. The bib straps are well made and flexible, but have obtrusive and stiff loops for putting the bibs on hangers. It is needless and often ends up abrading your skin when getting dressed. The overall quality of the bibs seems quite good, and the level of insulation is spot-on. But, comparison to Rapha's knickers, the Assos product really pales in comparison, especially at the chamois.
