Don’t buy this

After 10 days of not receiving the e-gift card I had to contact support to give me a refund. They claimed my payment method was denied but it was authorized in my PayPal account, their system never finished the transaction.

Frustrating 9 Day Gift Card Experience

I ordered a gift card on 12/16, expecting it to arrive by Christmas. However, on 12/17, I received an order cancellation email with no explanation. When I contacted customer service, I was told the finance team needed to approve the order and that I should receive the gift card soon. Despite multiple follow-up calls, I kept receiving the same response. On 12/20, a different customer service representative placed a new gift card order and officially canceled the old one. Unfortunately, by that evening, the new order was canceled as well. When I called again, they finally processed my credit card, but not without complications. A hold was placed on my card, and I had to inform the finance department of the exact pending amount before they could release the gift card. At that point, I was close to giving up and buying alternative gifts. However, on Christmas morning, the digital gift card finally arrived in my inbox. It took 9 days and numerous calls to customer service to resolve the issue. In the future, I’d recommend purchasing a Visa gift card instead and letting the recipient shop at Backcountry themselves—it’ll save you time and frustration.

not sure why these have such negative reviews. purchased 2 cards friday and received the codes 9 hours later. the purchase screen warned they'd be sent next business day, so i didn't even expect them until monday. i did a mock purchase and they both worked, but the down side is that you can only apply one gift card per purchase unless you contact them.

E-Gift card purchase

I have bought quite a few e-gift cards over the years from backcountry. Last April I had an incident where the e-gift card was never sent/ received, but when I contacted a gear head, the issue got resolved, and everything worked out just fine. I was a little hesitant buying an e-gift card this Christmas for my brother after reading the new reviews, but I did. My brother received the e-gift card (his email put it in his "promotions" tab). The only email I received was the one saying my order was "placed" (but never got one saying the e-gift card was delivered). As a point of feedback-- I think it would be helpful if backcountry sent a follow up email saying the e-gift card was sent to close the communication gap.

Scam

As others have said do not purchase. This is a scam and backcountry should be embarrassed.

Gift ecard

Bought for my son's birthday. He said he bought hiking boots so I'm not sure what he actually bought. He's all about outdoors.
