Choucas Pro Harness
A little under five ounces, the Blue Ice Choucas Pro Harness is one of the lightest harnesses out there designed for climbing, and unlike the Addax (Blue Ice's lightest harness), the Choucas Pro is fully featured and geared for any style of climbing whether it's multi-pitch alpine or single-pitch sport. Padded mesh provides plenty of cushy ventilation when you're hanging on a rope, and it packs small for long approaches. The leg loops are particularly unique in that you can easily open them up to avoid crampons.

Great Ice/Alpine Harness
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Lightweight, reasonably comfortable considering the amount of padding, secure fitting. The waistbelt is kind of a pain to set but once you do it, its not moving. The gear loops are good but could be better, clipper slots are well placed and perfect for ice encounters. I love the ability to put on and take off while still wearing my crampons and was able to do so without much effort. The belay loop seems small compared to other makes, but go check out the video on the blue ice site for info, they're putting technology into this thing to make it so light and small.

Leg loops really difficult to undo
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it

Primary reason I got this harness was for mountaineering, so I need the leg loops to be easily undone/redone. I struggled to do this with my two bare hands, and can’t imagine I’d be remotely successful with any kind of glove on.
