Maxfield 2 Tent: 2-Person 3-Season
When you get the itch to head into the mountains there's not much that can cure it besides a few nights under clear stars far, far from civilization. Toss the Klymit Maxfield 2 Person 3-Season Tent into your pack and hit the trail en route to your favorite secluded spots. Whether you're hiking with a buddy, a significant other, a furry friend, or just want a little extra room (because you deserve it), this two-person tent provides comfortable lodgings during the spring, summer, and fall. Its double-wall design lets you air out with full mesh sidewalls on warmer nights, while the easy-to-set-up rain fly protects you from the elements when it's a bit windy or rainy. A large, multi-point vestibule gives you lots of storage space for extra gear on climbing and mountaineering trips, so you won't wind up having to spoon your climbing rope as you drift off to sleep. Superlight in its construction, this tent is no hassle to toss into your pack, and offers spacious inner storage to help you rest comfortably up in the hills. Plus, it's got an innovative roll-style stuff sack that makes it easy to set up and take down your tent without getting it overly dirty, muddy, or filled with pine needles.

Set up is a little more difficult and time consuming than other tents I own.

Held up in serious rain storms x2 in national parks without a leak while other tents in adjacent campsites didn’t fare so well. Moderately difficult to assemble. I don’t know if it needs more directions or needs a more straightforward center pole system but was helpful to watch a video beforehand. After retiring my MSR system this was definitely a different level of setup. It’s reasonably lightweight- was good for our family but with 3 young kids we haven’t ventured into backpacking trips yet with them so used it for car camping. The footprint that we purchased separately was key. Overall, quite pleased.

Very light, easy to put up and spacious for 4p
Took this tent for a few trips that were a couple days each. Super light for how many people you can fit in it. Very easy to set up and tear down. The way it sits in the bag is great. We did experience some condensation on the inside with the vents open. But we did have four people inside the fly was zipped up and it was not very windy out. Overall highly recommend for hiking trips where light weight and a multiple person tent is needed.

Only complaints would be I wish it was a free standing tent and that it came with a footprint. Other than that, it was a quick setup and take down. Roomier than I had expected for a 2 person. Overall a good quality tent.

Great backpacking tent
Used it for the first time for a 3 night backcountry trip where I was over 5 miles in and hauling a 50lb pack. Easy setup once you practice a couple times. It’s not quite standard with the alignment of the poles and isn’t symmetrical (by design) but it makes sense once it is setup. I like size and weight for what it is.

Immediate Body Rip - Tent Wall
Upon first set-up, the mesh body wall ripped. Return to Vehicle: used spare.

Great tent - wish it came with more stakes and footprint
The tent sets up and tears down easily. It’s roomy for one person and cozy for two, and it packs down pretty small and light. My only wish is that it came with the additional stakes needed to further stretch out the rain fly. This would add some rain protection AND ventilation having space between he tent and the fly. I also wish it came with the footprint, which, like the stakes, you have to buy separately.

Great Price and weight
The tent was the best value weight tent I could find. It performed well at 12,500 feet. Once you set it up once, it is easy to use. The roll up bag is makes it easy to take down and pack. The fly cords are great design. The fly covers the tens 100 percent so no corners are showing. I will definitely try to use just the fly on a trip next summer. It had room for two adults and packs, the vestibule was great extra space.
