Industry leading probe for a reason. Good depth for PNW snow

I would absolutely love this item if it had a traditional pull style locking mechanism. I use it for ski patrolling, and I just find it as a bit more inconvenient to use the current system.

Very solid probe
Much sturdier than some of the other aluminum probes on the market, easy to use and quick to deploy. Had no issues when using it to probe for beacons during practice rescues.

Light weight probe that's easily assembled as well as stached in a backpack.

Works great. Would recommend aluminum as shoveling close to a carbon probe may result in potential damage.

Locks in place and starts poking fast!
Thankfully I haven't had any cause to use the probe outside of practicing or within the class, but it deploys quickly and probes deeply which is what you want to happen in situations where it's needed.
