Why We Like The Eiswand Advanced ML Hooded Jacket
Mammut made the Eiswand Advanced ML Jacket with the extreme breathability required for midlayers during alpine adventures like ski touring, climbing, and mountaineering. Its Pontetorto Merino Tecnowool fabric also wicks moisture and dries quickly to keep us comfortably dry when we work up a sweat.
We love how the stretchy waffle fabric combines a slim fit with gusseted underarms so you can reach for faraway holds or dish out a lot of slack on belay without this jacket riding over your harness. An articulated fit also lets you layer shells over the fleece without bunching or restriction of movement. The low-profile hood fits comfortably under a helmet when things get especially cold, and makes it easy to wear two hoods when needed.

Great mid layer but,....
Why are the cuffs so baggy? Really annoying, so baggy in fact I was able to see two spots together to make thumb holes. It actually works better now. I've used to for mountaineering, ice climbing, hiking and under a dry suit pack rafting. It's become a daily driver for me almost year round. I'm in the Chugach mountains (AK) if that helps. It's spendy for what it is, but it's great. I'm 5'8" 200 and XL fits well except for baggy cuffs. Sleeves are long but that's expected, I'm stocky wearing XL. Most brands, even man it I'm usually a large so be honest with yourself about sizing up due to the super trim cut.

The Eiswand Hooded Jacket was an incredible addition to my layering system for alpine climbs and skiing. Just got back from a two week trip in the Alaska Range, and this provided excellent warmth, wind, and sun protection. It stays secure and doesn't ride up in/out of a harness, and held its own while wallowing in waist deep snow for hours. I liked the double chest pockets as they were easy to access and stored tons of gels. Super comfortable material, and true to sizing.

Tight fit and thinner than expected
I purchased the blue, the colour seperation isn't as distinct in person as it is in the picture. I usually wear medium with lots of extra room. I purchased medium and it was super tight, but still fit. You kind of have to have an athletic build for this product. Not a bad product, but confused what I'd be really using it for.

I would not consider this a jacket. Its more of a sweatshirt with a zipper front. I would not use this as an outer layer in cold weather unless you are exerting yourself. It is made of good quality materials but I was hoping this could be used as an outer layer in cold weather but its more of a midlayer.

Nice Material
I shredded this sweater climbing a corner but the short time frame I had this, it was a great fit for approaches in the early morning. With the sun out and posting up snow slopes this sweater is good to about -5°C while moving hard. Its a sweater, not a jacket. I am 6'2' 194lbs and the XL fit me well. Athletic fit, slim fitting, beauty

Great jacket for moderate weather
This has been my go to jacket now while warming up on climbs. The material is stretchy and does a great job keeping me warm.

Almost Perfect
This piece works really well at keeping in insulation for a light mid-layer. Flexible, breathable, warm - BUT, it is looong in the torso for a tight fit. Almost perfect!
