Not very good
Wanted to like these, but these aren't up to Merrell's old standards. Let's just say at the root of the problem is that they have no "body." It is impossible to cinch them up enough for even moderate downhill walking or especially hiking. Your toes will soon agree these are pretty worthless.

Not the normal Merrill I have come to love
I have bought a bunch of shoes from this company over the years. But these are not as comfortable as the rest and the cost was higher then I would have spent. The run large I wear size 11 and these fit like a 12 or 12.5 so I’ve tried to wear them and can’t and I can’t send them back.

Comfortable and Supportive
Very comfortable and surprisingly supportive considering it is a slip on. The wide stance is responsible I suspect

Good fit
I wore the shoes in Western Canada hiking. They were a good fit. Saved me from blisters.

great shoes but not for accepting custom orthotics
I thought these hikers would be perfect: light, attractive for a female with wide feet and fashion forward. But my custom orthotics would not fit as the provided insole is not removable. My mistake, my loss. I had to return them.

Looks great in this color
Like the feel similar to other hiking shoes. Nice thing is it doesn't need tying laces

Innovative marriage of Vibram sole and mesh uppers
I walk 12,000 steps a day and replaced my worn shoes about a month ago with this model and I love them! The sole is slightly wider than I'm used to, but I find it helps stability, and the heel gives just enough bounce to keep me happy whether my walk is down Broadway in New York, a back road in the mountains of Colorado, or up and down the Hudson Valley hills. A great design that I highly recommend.

Disappointing Shoe
Gave this one a try and found it very uncomfortable. On the positive end, everything about the upper, including the drawcord, was fine for me and I think they look great in person. But the huge problem is it doesn't feel like a cohesive shoe. Walking in it, the upper and sole don't feel well connected and are simply quite uncomfortable. Its immediately noticeable and not a problem I've had with other Merrell shoes. For me too there is a feeling of the heel being higher that I don't enjoy very much. Avoid this one.
