Great value shell, but…
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
- Size Bought:
- XL
- Height:
- 6' 1"
- Weight:
- 170
I want to live this shell: the price, the overall design, the workmanship, the materials selection (75D Gore Tex for higher wear areas plus Gore Pac-lite for breath ability & weight savings). I wanted an xl to fit my normally large sizing to allow for layers underneath, and, to avoid Mt. Equipment tendency to be snug around the neck. But, what I did not fully understand nor like is the short ‘underarm zip vents’ not longer zipper pit zips that seem to allow only limited ventilation. That limitation would drive me crazy I thought my so I reluctantly retuned it. Maybe my true rain shells will be the ones I wear to hike and ventilate to dump heat, maybe I don’t need more ventilation on mountaineering routes and then maybe again I will find a similar (or the same) ME shell that is as good as this one. Ugh! Almost perfect. P.s. I have 35” arms and the fit is 36” but then again it is an xl which is fine for layering.
