Worth the weight.
I purchased this set for my wife and me for short to mid length hikes. The weight correlates with the strong construction and the ability to be creative with its nesting features allows it to ride in my MSR pot and hold other items as well.

One of the cups has a defect
The set is nice and relatively low weight for the materials used. The cups are heavy. The main drawback is upon the inaugural cleaning of the product, before it was taken out into the field, I submerged the cups in the sink to clean them with a washcloth and detergent, cleaned them, rinsed them and then the blue cup seemed to have taken on water between the grey liner and the blue cup. This indicates there is a break in the seal where water can get into the insulating area and mold can now potentially grow. The green cup does not have this problem. I have contacted the manufacturer out of concern.

2-Person Mess Kit
Totally love the convenient and light-weight design of this little kit. The lidded thermal cups pack neatly in the dishware for easy storage. I took them for just an overnight backpacking trip and found them to be just the thing for an easy dinner and coffee with breakfast-kind of expedition. Easy to clean and overall just what I was looking for.

Perfect for the Bike
My wife and I are growing our back country gear supply, and we picked up the MSR mess kit prior to a multi-day bike trip. We also added the French press attachment. Couldn't be happier. The size, straining lid, coffee cups are perfect.

Light weight and storage
My wife and I enjoy having the MSR - 2 Person Mess Kit as it's light weight and store easily into itself and fits in the bottom of any backpack, easy to clean and the quality you expect from MSR.

great kit for couples hike
I actually won this kit from MSR on a facebook contest, it's an awesome kit! this kit would be great for partner hiking and I have zero problems with it. Kinda bulky for solo hiking, but all around a great kit!
