Poor strap material/design

In general I like these snowshoes. But last night tromping through 18" of fresh powder in sub-freezing temperature I found the Achilles heel of these snowshoes. Twice the snowshoes came off. The plastic straps that hold your feet to the shoe lost there elasticity and would not stretch like they do in somewhat warmer conditions. If you are looking for snowshoes for these conditions I advise you look for a different strapping system that is more pliable.
