Why We Like The Transporter Wheeled 40L Duffel
Rugged, smooth-traveling, and all-around convenient, the Transporter 40L Wheeled Duffel is our pack of choice for weekend getaways and cross-country flights alike. This bag's tough and water-repellent construction is great on small-town adventures and overnights in National Parks, and its sturdy chassis and large wheels let it roll smoothly down airport terminals and icy walkways. The generous interior features two mesh pockets for easy organization and compression straps that keep our gear and goods secure, and a large pocket at the end offers easy access to items while we're on the go. For maximum travel efficiency, Osprey added six lash points outside for secure transport on a roof rack or even a pack animal.

Best Carry On for World Travel
I'm on my third year of my Wheeled Transporter. I'm carryon only, and I've been around the world twice with it. I travel full-time as a nomad. This bag is the best carryon out there for two reasons: the wheels and the material. It withstands rain and can travel over every rock and pebble and cobblestone and curb out there. And, in the cases when I do have to check it due to weight, not size, the wheels survive the baggage handlers with no problem

Great bag for domestic and international
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I am a disciple of Rick Steves, so packing light and never checking a bag is a principle I hold dear. This bag is amazing. Light, water resistant, and able to fit more than you might imagine. I’ve taken it to Europe 3 times, and wheeling it around airports, train stations, and even on cobbled streets is a breeze. And when I need to carry it, it has plenty of grab handles to make it easy. Get you one!

Perfect for most travel needs
I’ve owned mine for a year and I love it. The padded compartment is great for folding shirts, dresses, etc, and they stay flat and isolated. Plenty of room on the main side, and straps cinch down to hold items in place. Effortless pull with the long handle and large wheels. Bag is fairly light, so more room for stuff and less concern about bag weight on the airline counter scales. I love the sleek outer fabric, which is weather resistant. Easy to squeeze down the size when scrutinized by wary travel clerks. I’ve taken this to several corners of the globe for two or three weeks at a time — even fit a foldable yoga mat as well. This bag, teamed with my Osprey day pack (both in the cool blue wave color), hold everything I need. Strongly recommend.

Quality Issues
This would be the perfect travel bag, if the quality were consistent. What I love: the handles in all directions, the rugged, waterproof material, the wheels that can roll over any surface--even cobblestoned streets and gravel. What I don't: the handle mechanism is made from cheap materials and poorly constructed. It wobbles from the get go, the screws come loose after a few trips, and on my bag the telescoping mechanism eventually locked completely, rendering the bag unusable. The handle was also the weak point on my last Osprey bag. If Osprey were to fix the quality of its handles, this would be a perfect travel bag. This is my 3rd Osprey bag and I've traveled to over 140 countries, so I'm particular and certainly put a bag through its paces, but will switch brands after this bag disappointed on my last trip.

Good, but the previous versions were better.
I've been using this model overseas for about 3 months now, and it's performed well. It's highlights are the light weight, quality construction overall, and versatility. I bought this one after the previous version I had came to untimely end after getting snagged on something sharp. While I do like this bag I think the older versions were significantly better overall; the material was better, the inclusion of built in compression straps was highly useful, and I feel they were a little bit better built overall.

Disappointed given the brand
I had been in the market for a roller bag for several months and decided to go with Osprey, having a good luck with their backpacks. However, on its first trip it has repeatedly been disappointing, zippers do not work smoothly, the wheels are already rattling like a bad shopping cart and wear marks on the soft exterior material are already showing. Just a 6 day trip with multiple flights and only overhead storage. I dread having to put it in cargo. So frustrating given the company's normal quality. Not worth the price at all.
