Great boot to have in the gear closet

These boots are ready to go anywhere. I have used these in many high alpine situations. They are sturdy enough to handle heavy loads of the pack. Strong enough to kick steps into steep ice glacier fields. Summited many mountains. The real test was Chimborazo and they did the deed. If you tend to have weak feet. These might hurt until they are properly broken in, but in all, they keep your feet warm with the proper sock. Highly recommend.

I’ve owned Asolos, Zamberlans and lots of my long time favorite Scarpas…in particular their Charmoz and Zodiac Tech models which compete directly with the Salewa Crow. Before receiving them I wasn’t too optimistic about the Crows, thinking Salewa was a purveyor of somewhat lesser quality. But I was wrong. This is a well designed and well balanced product, so they’re quite adaptable. Really enjoying them, very satisfied. Already bought a second pair.

Best boot I have pwne

Out of the box this boot looks great, the extra sole insert makes for a customized fit. Very stiff not much bend initially. I wear a 8 street shoe and the 8 in these fits like sneakers, slightly narrow. Might want to half size up if you’re planning on wearing thick socks. They seem super durable and I expect longevity out of these.

I have real bad ankles and feet from skateboarding, mt bike racing, motocross racing and other fun sports growing up and the support these boots offer is unparalleled as I compare to other hiking, trekking and light mountaineering boots I have bought in the past. The rigid sole transfers that foot/ankle energy to my calf, knee and thigh which keep the pain at the lower end of the scale. I just got back from Everest Base Camp and they performed exceedingly well. They tend to fit a tad bit small like Asolo boots but are super rugged. Pre EBC training was about 400 miles and they have an additional 200-300 more miles since returning and by the images, you can see that they are in pretty good shape from a wear perspective. I tie by boots so tight that I blow through laces every 150 miles but these still look new. I attempted to buy back up "factory" laces for these boots and was told by all sources that they are not available. Only bummer. I have not had the moisture intrusion problem I have read but have not trudged through deep rivers and ponds. The hundreds of streams and puddles never yielded any leakage. I did bail the factory insole for a custom orthotic. The only area where these may not perform so well would be on flat long treks. I have done the Camino de Santiago twice and would not bring these. The super rigid sole causes you to "clop, clop, clop" when you walk which may make other areas of you body hurt over time. Even though there is still more than 60% tread left and a 90% outer skin, I am going to purchase another pair before they change the model and put them in the queue.
