Why We Like The Santa Cruz Blur C GX Eagle Transmission Reserve Mountain Bike
Whether we are racing for the podium or out for a weekend ride, we love the Santa Cruz Blur for its lightweight design, efficient suspension platform, and race-proven geometry. Santa Cruz's new Superlight suspension platform was specifically designed for the Blur, making it more energy-efficient and reducing overall weight from their previous VPP suspension platform. With a more linear leverage curve and lower anti-squat values, Superlight gives us a suspension platform that climbs and descends more efficiently and reduces the number of moving parts for a lighter-weight, more reliable suspension platform. With a 68.3-degree head tube angle, we are in an efficient position to maintain snappy and precise handling while having a bit more confidence when the XC course gets steeper. Size-specific chainstays and seat tube angles position every sized rider in an efficient pedaling position, while a short wheelbase and short chainstays aid in making the Blur more maneuverable and agile. Integrated downtube and chainstay protectors keep our bike safe from chain slaps and rock strikes, and internal cable routing makes for a silent and clean ride.
The GX Eagle Transmission reserve build of the Santa Cruz Blur is equipped with reliable components that offer incredible value. Santa Cruz's Carbon C frame offers a lightweight and stiff ride and was designed to the same standards as Santa Cruz's higher-end Carbon C frame for reliability. SRAM's GX Eagle Transmission drivetrain provides reliable and precise electronic shifting, a huge gear range, and a nearly indestructible build. A RockShox Sid SL Select+ with 100mm of travel helps to save weight, maintains traction with the dirt, and is loaded with adjustments to ensure the fork meets our riding style. Reserve 28|XC rims and Industry Nine 1/1 hubs pair together to make a race-worthy wheelset that is both reliable and lightweight. A Fox Transfer Performance SL dropper post provides effortless changes in saddle height at an ultralight weight, and Maxxis Aspen tires keep the rolling resistance down so we can power on through the miles as fast as possible. Finally, the new SRAM Level Bronze Stealth, 2-piston brakes supply tons of stopping power while keeping the weight to a minimum.
*Due to a high demand in the global supply chain and bike industry since the start of the pandemic, material weight and exact components are subject to change. We are working diligently to keep tech specs updated, and any adjustments will be of equal or better spec level.
