So much Friction!
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Well, this is intended for friction hitches and it works a treat. Whether you are tying a prusik, Klemheist, Autoblock - you name it this sling will grab your rope. I have used these for years and they usually age out before I wear them out. The biggest trick is practicing with your rope so you know how many wraps to throw on the friction hitch. Too many and you ain't goin' anywhere. Super safe, but can be a beast to release.

Almost too good...
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I used this for the first time recently as a part of my rescue rig for military rappelling. I was looking for something with less bulk and quicker setup than a tubular nylon webbing autoblock. I'm glad that I tested it out first before needing it in an actual rescue setting. I used a klemheist with four wraps, and got stuck about four feet down into my rappel. The hollow block locked up so tight onto the main rope (Bluewater 11mm Assaultline) that there was no budging it at all. I had to tie in a secondary autoblock with a sewn runner and release the klemheist from the carabiner just to continue. Three wraps is enough!
